The Brief

To design the existing Born.com marketplace and develop the V1.5 platform

What we did

We worked with the Born international team to set out the framework for the new born.com website. The site has a presence in eight territories around the world and has multiple language formats. Taking this into consideration we began the interaction design process integrating their own platform payment system Born Express. With the strategy team in Berlin we undertook a 3 day workshop planning out the buy process with advanced filtering to find items within the site quickly and efficiently.

Once the Wireframe process had been signed off we began on the next round of the project Visual Design. We had to be careful not to completely move away from the established brand as the existing platform was live in each of territories. We decided on an evolution of the brand look/feel rather than a complete departure. Once we had finished this process it was then handed over to their technical team in the Singapore with the assistance of our team here to retain the qualities we had worked within the phase one approach. As well as designing the main born.com website we also had to seamlessly blend in the payment gateway Born Express by applying aspects from the born brand.

We're now planning the next phases of the site with the Born international committee to roll out in 2008/09.

The Results

So far we have launched the site in the UK and France with the additional territories launching throughout 2008.
